Pam’s Bio
Hello, I am Pam Kellough, artist, wife, mother, grandmother, and minister. I have a huge “creative monster” inside of me that requires feeding daily. As a result, I hold a paintbrush almost everyday stoking the fires of creativity.
In the beginning:
My journey is a simple one. I married the love of my life 32 years ago. Gary is my “idea guy” who rescues me when inspiration is elusive on a project. he seems to always have a new approach. We are the completion of each other, filling in whatever the other one lacks. I am a mother of five children and a grandmother to one, all blessed, intelligent and everything a mother could ask for. When my oldest two kids were little, I picked up some cast off acrylic paints, parked my kids on the floor with their own kiddy paint sets and the rest is history! I dabbled for years while my children grew and when the time was right; I launched a career of my own.
Now:
My talent is a God given gift, as I have no formal education in painting or murals. My last art class was a requirement in elementary school. I am a licensed minister and a graduate of The Southern Ohio School of Ministry.
I have painted an unlimited variety of subjects from architecture to animals and figures, to landscapes and lettering. One of my strengths is the ability to “build” with my paintbrush. Where there is an awkward area, hardware to be disguised or a structure that needs to diminish, I can hide it with the paint techniques. My other strength is speed. A common complaint is the lengths of time painters are in your home, disrupting family life. When you view my gallery you will see that i have noted the time used for my previous works. Most people cannot believe that I can accomplish what i do in such a short period. My work is very realistic, mimicking life as much as is possible.
I paint in all venues. My clients range from churches, commercial businesses and private homes. Many places require me to paint during standard business hours, which I do with minimum disturbance. i have been privileged to be a part of the BIA Parade of Homes in Central Ohio for several years and have worked with several homebuilders and designers developing great business relationships. I have traveled all over the state of Ohio using my talents.
I consider it a wonderful thing to awaken every morning loving my husband, loving my children and grandchild, loving my father, stepmother, siblings, church family and friends. It is however a huge plus to love your job. One of my greatest delights is being in the home of a client getting to know then for a few days. I have treasured memories of every home I have had the privilege to visit and friends I have made. I would love to visit yours!
Pam, I’m the artist you met at the Pow-Wow in Yoctangee Park back in May. I think you are a brilliant artist. Your execution is perfect. (Or as perfect as it can get.) I would really like to show you my work. If I can have some digital photo’s taken, I’ll try to figure out how to send them to you. Again, I think you are an excellent muralist. Please respond. Thank you, Ron Staples.
Pam,
Hi,
I just popped in the Hobby Shop in Waverly yesterday and talked to the lady running the store. I love your work! You are braver than I am. I may have met you briefly at the 23 South Bound Flea Market, I’m not sure. I sell oil paintings there in Building E. At any rate, your work is very inspiring and I just wanted to tell you that. I can’t believe that no one has left you any feedback yet. People are constantly asking me to do murals while I am painting at the flea market, however, I don’t think I would have time to do anything but scenery. If they want arches, and greater detail, I may point them your direction. Great work!!! Have a great day!!!
Sincerely,
David Steffy
Wow…is what all my visitor’s and family say when they see the mural in our guest bath…such a surprise when they close the pocket door and see the mule looking in at them through a ‘barn door’ window. Such personality this mule has…he has become a member of our family…his eyes and face features make him seem so real. Your perspective is near to perfect…thank you for such a beautiful piece of artwork in our home. Dawn Holton, Waverly.
